Recap
Game highlights
The game started quite close with both teams racking up runs in the 1st inning, and getting quick outs in the next two. Oddsox continued with their typically tight fielding, and found the holes in Tigers’ defence to score some home runs and take a strong lead. Tigers managed to stop Oddsox short of a mercy in the 4th and 5th and shut them out in the 6th, just scraping through to the 7th – but were unable to make much of a dent in the lead.
The Oddsox defence also made it hard for Tigers to pick out MVPs, but Rachael clinched it with a few outs at 3B and a great throw to 1B, and Johnny with consistently good pitching, and a catch in the outfield. For Tigers, Julie caught just about everything she could on 1B, and the other MVP was probably awarded for entertainment value – taking one catch on about the third attempt and dropping another whilst faceplanting. In my defence, I barely slept the night before! A shout out to Clint for stepping in to pitch for Tigers in the 5th. And thanks to Stella for sterling work umpiring when she could have been playing!
